We are the Fusion Generation

The term young professional or YP no longer accurately describes this group of change-agents.

It is now the Fusion Generation. The Fusion Generation is a described as the unification of the Gen X, Y and Millennials professionals and students who are working together to better their communities and world they live in.

There is no way to fully separate these generations as they exhibit the same passion for the place they live, work and play in. It is a renaissance generation that is multi-talented and ready to share their knowledge with the world. They have ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit that will make a lasting impact in their communities.

Occupations: Professionals are from all professions: doctor, lawyer, teacher, artist, accountant, musician, writers, marketers, police officers, etc.

Characteristics: Inclusive, outgoing, persistent, altruistic, tech savvy, urban, mobile, influential, ready to act, outspoken, diverse, connected, enthusiastic, optimistic, non-traditional.

Likes: Getting involved, leadership, change (with preservation), cooperation, focus

Dislikes: Too much talking and no action, selfishness, egos, wasting of resources, assumptions, pessimism.

About Fusion

Launched in April 2007, Fusion is one of the fastest growing, most inclusive and influential "young professional" organizations in the state. Fusion is the only regional organization dedicated to engaging the Southeast Michigan's talent mix in shaping and showcasing a Metro Detroit region that is more attractive.

We are an actual organization that brings people together to create positive change in the region. Fusion has grown through word-of-mouth and the members who see the quality, credibility and value of our organization

Fusion will serve as the premier organization attracting and retaining young professionals and new business. To proactively shape the future workforce of the region, as well as building up the next generation of leaders, Fusion will:

Focus on attracting and retaining talent to the Detroit Region.

Develop, educate and motivate the future leaders of the region.

Empower future leaders to take responsibility in the future of the region; economic and community development.

Provide a voice on issues affecting young professionals.

Work to make Detroit the place to live, work, play and prosper.
